As we continue to expand, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join our team.
Position Overview:
As a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney, you will represent employers and insurers in workers' compensation claims throughout California. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, providing legal advice to clients, and handling all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and trials.
Responsibilities:
Represent clients in workers' compensation claims, including case preparation, discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
Provide strategic legal advice to employers, insurers, and third-party administrators on workers’ compensation matters.
Manage a diverse caseload from inception to resolution, ensuring that all client goals are met in a timely manner.
Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlement agreements.
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and medical professionals.
Stay current on workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and trends in California.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the State Bar of California, in good standing.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation laws, including administrative procedures and case law.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Responsiveness to client communications (emails & phone calls).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience handling complex workers' compensation defense cases.
Familiarity with the WCAB (Workers' Compensation Appeals Board) process.
Bilingual in Spanish (preferred, but not required).
